Hibaq Osman, She/Her

I go to Chief Sealth International High School and I am 16 years old. I am concerned with climate justice because growing up I had asthma due to air pollution in my neighborhood and the lack of resources for our community of color.

Jacob Bookwalter, He/His

I am a Georgetown resident and DRCC Intern. I am 16 years old and I go to Garfield High School. The neighborhood I live in shouldn’t determine my life expectancy because they should all be clean and healthy. We deserve a future where the earth is clean and healthy for everyone.

Kelcey Valdez, She/Her

I graduated from Chief Sealth International High School in 2020. Environmental justice is important because the effect and change that factories and humans are creating while not taking care enough of our environment is long lasting. As we try to do our best to make it better, all the pollution that comes into our river and our air is affecting us in a way that it will take many years of recovery to be able to have a healthy environment. My plan for the future is to study Psychology & Criminology at university.

I’m a Latina South Park resident. I’m currently a 17 year old junior at Chief Sealth International High School. I want to be able to help the communities that have been affected the most by climate injustice.

Waleid Sami,

I’m 15 years old and go to Evergreen High School. As a community, we should stand up for what’s right in our environment. If there are any types of issues that are going on within our environment, then they should eventually try to be solved and that’s what environmental justice is.

I’m 15, I go to Evergreen High School. I believe we should reduce greenhouse gasses and carbon emissions so that the world doesn’t heat up and make parts of earth inhabitable.
