Resilience on Seattle's Waterfront

Because they are expected to face worse impacts from climate change than other parts of the
region, the Seattle neighborhoods of South Park and Georgetown are working with the City of
Seattle to build their climate resilience.
We worked with the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps to survey door to door in South Park and
Georgetown, asking community members about their concerns and perspectives. Our results
paint a picture of a diverse, highly connected community of people who prioritize
environmental health, the need for green infrastructure, and the importance of including
community perspectives in efforts to build climate resilience.
We hope this collection of stories will help bring some of those perspectives to life.
