Dangerous Sediments to be Transported through Georgetown Despite Facility Violations

DRCC/TAG learned that Seattle’s Waste Management Company had plans to transport hazardous waste dredged from Bellingham Bay at temporary facility on the Duwamish River.  This facility has already been cited for numerous violations.  Waste Management plans to to accept the contaminated sediments as soon as Tuesday, September 8, 2015.  The material is being offloaded without any prior notification to the Georgetown community.
